Saturday

If anyone was wondering who the cutest little girl in the world is, you'll find your answer below. I'm a proud Aunty Amy. I'm not ashamed to admit the fact.

Welcome to the world, Lillie. We've been waiting for you little one.

Thank Heaven for little girls.

Thursday

When we were young, the jungle gym at school appeared to be the size of Mount Everest, writing those spelling words 10 times each took up three trees worth of paper, and summer vacation lasted an eternity.

As an adult (who chose a profession that entitles me to summer vacations for life) I've found that those blissful eight weeks between the end of May and the beginning of August travel at speeds that could break the sound barrier.

This morning the alarm went off at 7am, alerting the world that the first day of school (for teachers) had arrived. I climbed out of bed (reminiscing about all the mornings I spent watching Captain Planet before middle school) and into my clothes, then into my car, and finally into my classroom.

The first two hours was spent in a faculty meeting. Afterwards my co-teachers and I took a list of 36 children and split them evenly amongst the two classrooms. The rest of the day was spent arranging furniture and distributing toys to their proper receptacles.

The highlight of my day occurred at 1045am when the office secretary informed me that there was a beautiful bouquet of flowers at the front desk with my name it.

The flowers were from Alex. I'd already spent a good deal of time rambling about how wonderful a man he is to my co-workers, and then he just proves my point without even planning to do so. Have I mentioned I love this man??

I have decided I will not relinquish my late nights just to make room for those early mornings. Sure, I may end up sleeping until two on Saturday, but that's a small price to pay. I'm young, I can handle this.
